Belle Plaine took a 16-run loss the last time they faced off against New Ulm, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 4-3.
Logan Hoen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Reed Creighton was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Zach Kirchner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
