Basketball Game Preview: Penn Yan Academy Mustangs vs. Bloomfield Bombers

The Penn Yan Academy Mustangs will head out to face off against the Bloomfield Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-45, which was the final score in Penn Yan Academy's tilt against Waterloo on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Tigers are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Bloomfield came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over the Reds. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bombers have posted since December 2, 2023.

Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Penn Yan Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
