Preview: West Mesquite vs. Adams
The West Mesquite Wranglers will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Adams Cougars at 7:30 p.m. West Mesquite will be strutting in after a win while Adams will be coming in after a defeat.
On Friday, West Mesquite kept a clean sheet against Conrad. They put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 6-0 victory. The victory was just what West Mesquite needed coming off of a 8-0 loss in their prior contest.
They hit Conrad with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Mia Mancilla (2),
Emma Ramos (2),
Ashley Hernandez, and
Ariana Pina.
Meanwhile, Adams' game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of North Mesquite by a score of 2-1. It was the first time this season that Adams let down their fans at home.
West Mesquite's win bumped their record up to 5-6-2. As for Adams, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3-1.
West Mesquite came up short against Adams when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 3-1. Can West Mesquite avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
