The Cordova Wolves's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Houston Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cordova is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points last Friday, they were much more limited against White Station on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 13-12 to the Spartans. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Chandler Day had a dynamite game for Houston, throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Derrick Miller Jr. was Day's top target, picking up 221 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Houston's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Ladeadrick James and Khori Faulkner. Faulkner is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Houston, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cordova took a serious blow against Houston in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 42-13. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cordova was down 42-0.
