Soccer Game Preview: San Leandro vs. San Lorenzo

The San Leandro Pirates will face off against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Leandro will be strutting in after a win while San Lorenzo will be coming in after a defeat.

San Leandro will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Castro Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. San Leandro walked away with a 3-1 victory over Castro Valley on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for San Lorenzo's offense. They lost 4-0 to Berkeley on Tuesday. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

San Lorenzo's loss dropped their record down to 6-6-2. As for San Leandro, the win got them back to even at 5-5-3.

San Leandro beat San Lorenzo by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 2-1. Will San Leandro repeat their success, or does San Lorenzo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
