Summerville is a perfect 4-0 against Big Valley Christian since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Summerville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Orestimba with a sharp 11-2 victory last Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bryce Rathmel and Liam Evans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rathmel tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Evans struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, Rathmel posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Rathmel scored two runs while going 4-for-4, while Evans scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Rathmel also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kane Hall, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Luke Larson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Summerville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Big Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Denair a 1-0 shutout two weeks ago. The one-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Noah Stel looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Summerville's victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1. As for Big Valley Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.
