Baseball Recap: Perry County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Perry County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers by a score of 7-2 on Thursday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Colby Ary was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ryder Sellers was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jade Eccher, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The win got Perry County back to even at 1-1. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coincidentally, Perry County and Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central will both be playing Clarksburg the next time they take the field. Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central will head out to face Clarksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Perry County will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
