Baseball Recap: Plainfield Takes a Loss

The Plainfield Cardinals didn't have quite enough to beat the East Side Red Raiders on Tuesday and fell 5-4.

Plainfield's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.25 runs. As for East Side, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield will venture away from home to face off against Union Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Side, they will head out to challenge Golda Och Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Golda Och Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something East Side will no doubt try to take advantage of.
