Pershing County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the Portola Tigers to the tune of 42-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 games in a row dating back to last season.

Coming up, Pershing County will head out to face off against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Portola, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fall River at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
