Football Recap: University Christian Christians vs. Carrollwood Day Patriots

University Christian was the 42-7 winner over Carrollwood Day when they last played one another back in August of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. The University Christian Christians took a 38-21 bruising from the Carrollwood Day Patriots on Friday. The Christians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, University Christian still got an impressive performance from Jenoa Alford, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown. Harrison Miller also helped out by tossing the rock for 275 yards.

It was another big night for Jordan Magwood, who threw for 234 yards and a touchdown on only 17 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground for Carrollwood Day. DJ WIlliams was Magwood's top target, picking up 128 receiving yards and a touchdown.

University Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Carrollwood Day, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.

University Christian will head out on the road to square off against Providence School at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Providence School's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. As for Carrollwood Day, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Destin at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.
