Alpharetta waltzed into their match on Thursday with 24 straight wins... but they left with 25. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cartersville Hurricanes. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Hurricanes back in August, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Alpharetta had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-9.

Leilani Lamar paced Alpharetta's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lamar got some help from Susie Dai and her 23 assists. Finally, Audrey Simpson kept Alpharetta's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Despite the loss, Cartersville still got an impressive performance from Sydney Seigler, who had eight digs and four aces.

Alpharetta's victory bumped their record up to 31-1. As for Cartersville, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 matches and leaves them with a 28-6 record.

Coming up, Alpharetta will head out to face off against South Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cartersville, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Bridges Prep on the 26th.
