Basketball Recap: Southern Wells Falls to Lakewood Park Christian in First Game of Season

Southern Wells kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers 59-19. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Southern Wells' loss came despite strong showings from Dirk Frauhiger and Jaxson Casterline. Frauhiger posted four points and four steals, while Casterline scored five points and ten boards.

Avery MacFarlane had an outrageously good game for Lakewood Park Christian as he dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. MacFarlane has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Garrett Black, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 12 points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Southern Wells is taking a road trip to face off against Southwood at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
