Softball Recap: Villa Madonna Vikings vs. St. Henry Crusaders

Villa Madonna scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past the St. Henry Crusaders 23-9. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Cam Kratzer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Kratzer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Kratzer was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Villa Madonna will be playing at home against Gallatin County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Henry, they will head out on the road to challenge Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
