Football Recap: Cherokee Trail Cougars vs. Mullen Mustangs
Cherokee Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were dealt a 40-7 loss at the hands of the Mullen Mustangs.
Steffi Thomas was a one-man wrecking crew for Mullen as she rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 136 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in rushing yards. Chloe Pelster was another key player, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Cherokee Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Mullen, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Cherokee Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mullen, they will face off against Arvada West at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
