Softball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Lampeter-Strasburg entered their tilt with Manheim Township on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Blue Streaks get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Streaks, too.

Not much got past Paige Baxter, who gave up just two hits to keep Manheim Township off the board. Baxter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lampeter-Strasburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Meck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Mackenzie Mack was another, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lampeter-Strasburg's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Manheim Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Lampeter-Strasburg will face off against Ephrata at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Manheim Township, they will take on Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
