Softball Game Preview: Lindenwold Lions vs. LEAP Academy Lancers

The Lindenwold Lions will square off against the LEAP Academy Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lindenwold has given up an average of 17.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lindenwold lost 16-1 to Haddonfield on Thursday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Bulldawgs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Karen Gullett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Genesis Pacheco also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, LEAP Academy made easy work of Bridgeton on Monday and carried off a 27-15 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

LEAP Academy let L Montanez and W Diaz run wild. Montanez got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI, while Diaz got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, seven runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave Diaz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of C Murray, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

LEAP Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Lindenwold, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Lindenwold might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from LEAP Academy in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
