Baseball Game Preview: Citrus Valley Blackhawks vs. Beaumont Cougars

The Citrus Valley Blackhawks will face off against the Beaumont Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Citrus Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Citrus Valley is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Redlands just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Terriers by a score of 4-3.

Nathan Castillo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs. Citrus Valley is 4-1 when Castillo posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Beaumont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to Colony.

Beaumont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ronnie Collins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Beaumont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Citrus Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Everything went Citrus Valley's way against Beaumont in their previous matchup back in March, as Citrus Valley made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
