Basketball Recap: Wayland Takes a Loss

Wayland played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 64-28 loss at the hands of the Acton-Boxborough The Revolution. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Acton-Boxborough found their leader in freshman Maura Quirk, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quirk has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Baytarian, who posted 12 points.

Wayland now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Acton-Boxborough, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wayland will square off against Cambridge Rindge & Latin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Acton-Boxborough, they will take on Fontbonne Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
