Basketball Recap: Calvert Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Calvert can now relate to. They were beaten by the La Plata Warriors 78-32 on Friday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

La Plata found their leader in sophomore Corey Collins, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 20 points and five steals. La Plata is 5-1 when Collins posts three or more steals, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Karon Allen, who posted ten points and seven assists.

Calvert's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21-1. As for La Plata, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Calvert nor La Plata have any future games scheduled.
