Volleyball Recap: Whiteland Comes Up Short

Whiteland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenfield-Central Cougars. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Whiteland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-12, 15-10.

Greenfield-Central was led to victory by Addi Rugenstein and Demi Muegge. Rugenstein had 13 digs and three assists, while Muegge had ten digs.

Whiteland's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Greenfield-Central, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Whiteland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Lapel on the 27th. As for Greenfield-Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against South Decatur on the 27th.
