Softball Recap: Aztec Gets the Win

Aztec posted their closest win since March 6th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the San Juan Broncos, sneaking past 8-6.

The team relied heavily on Kayci Phillips, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madeline Kaiser, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Aztec's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for San Juan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Aztec didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 win against West Mesa on the 27th. As for San Juan, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Gunnison Valley on the 25th.
