Basketball Recap: Florence Comes Up Short

Florence played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Show Low Cougars and fell 60-18. The Gophers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-4.

Raquel Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Show Low, going 13 for 18 on her way to 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Show Low's points. Jaylee Boyce was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

Florence has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Show Low, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-5.

Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-26 victory against Apache Junction on the 10th. As for Show Low, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-40 win against Winslow on the 10th.
