Volleyball Recap: Wheeling Park Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wheeling Park can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Martinsburg Bulldogs on Monday. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-20, 25-18.

Morgan Zoladz paced Wheeling Park's offense, picking up ten kills. Zoladz got some help from Gracyn Davis and her 11 assists. Grace Tamburin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Martinsburg can attribute much of their success to Katie Zittle, who had 20 assists and six digs. Zittle has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last eight times she's played.

Wheeling Park's defeat dropped their record down to 9-20-2. As for Martinsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Wheeling Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martinsburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Washington on the 3rd.
