Recap: Hilliard Darby Panthers vs. Dublin Scioto Irish
The Hilliard Darby Panthers won the last time they faced the Dublin Scioto Irish, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hilliard Darby secured a 51-46 W over Dublin Scioto.
Dublin Scioto's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Niah Smedley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Evan Rinker who scored 20 points. Smedley is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played.
Hilliard Darby's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Dublin Scioto, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilliard Darby will challenge Dublin Jerome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dublin Jerome presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hilliard Darby in Ohio (Dublin Jerome is ranked 62nd, while Hilliard Darby is ranked 279th). As for Dublin Scioto, they will head out on the road to challenge Westerville South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Westerville South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
