Basketball Game Preview: Penquis Valley Patriots vs. Stearns Minutemen

Penquis Valley is 2-8 against Stearns since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Penquis Valley Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Stearns Minutemen at 10:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Penquis Valley is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 99-21 to Penobscot Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Howlers are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Stearns lost 55-35 to Bangor Christian on Friday. The Minutemen have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Penquis Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Stearns, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
