Volleyball Game Preview: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs

The West Aurora Blackhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Aurora will be strutting in after a victory while Riverside-Brookfield will be coming in after a defeat.

West Aurora saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over St. Charles East. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blackhawks.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Francis.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Riverside-Brookfield sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 25-21.

Riverside-Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for West Aurora, their victory bumped their record up to 20-11.

West Aurora beat Riverside-Brookfield 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackhawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
