Basketball Recap: TASHANDA MADZVIMBO's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brooks Debartolo Collegiate over Calvary Christian

If Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate was riding high fresh off their 60-23 takedown of American Youth Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix took a 53-38 bruising from the Calvary Christian Warriors on Saturday. The matchup marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Phoenix players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was TASHANDA MADZVIMBO, who posted nine points and three steals. That's the most steals MADZVIMBO has posted since back in November of 2024. SIMEON JORDEN was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Calvary Christian, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-56 loss against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 21st. Calvary Christian has also already played their next contest, a 78-64 victory against Riverview Sarasota on the 20th.
