Basketball Recap: Noah Manka's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bayard over Potter-Dix

Basketball Recap: Bayard Tigers vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes
Bayard lost against Potter-Dix back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bayard Tigers took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Potter-Dix Coyotes. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Manka, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Manka continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Leonard, who put up ten points and eight boards.
Landon Gasseling was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 19 en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Potter-Dix. That's the most boards Gasseling has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Dylan Tabor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Bayard's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Potter-Dix, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Bayard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-37 defeat against Gordon-Rushville on the 11th. Potter-Dix has also already played their next matchup, a 53-34 loss against South Platte on the 11th.
