Baseball Recap: Meek Wins Going Away Against Winston County

Meek won against Winston County on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Meek Tigers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Winston County Yellowjackets. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Conner Lane was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Meek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

Meek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. Winston County dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meek will face off against Carbon Hill at 4:30 p.m. on March 11th. As for Winston County, they will square off against Haleyville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
