Softball Recap: Alisal Triumphs

Alisal owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the King City Mustangs by a score of 5-0. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Nevaeh Lopez, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep King City off the board. Lopez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alisal let Brooklyn Smith and Micah Smith run wild. Brooklyn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Micah went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Brooklyn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ciara Manu, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Alisal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King City only posted a batting average of .174.

Alisal's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for King City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Alisal nor King City have any future games scheduled.
