Basketball Recap: Oelrichs Tigers vs. Edgemont Moguls
This season hasn't been kind to the Oelrichs Tigers, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They took a serious blow against Edgemont on Monday, falling 69-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Oelrichs of the 60-27 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Edgemont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Morse, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morse has scored all season. Chase Alexander was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Oelrichs dropped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.4 points per game. As for Edgemont, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oelrichs will take on the Skyhawks at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Takini has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 219 points over their last three matchups. As for Edgemont, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Devils at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
