Eastlake is 9-1 against Montwood since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will challenge the Rams at 6:30 p.m. Eastlake is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Eastlake challenged Coronado on Tuesday. The Falcons blew past the Thunderbirds 3-0.

One reason for the win was Eastlake's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Socorro with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Montwood was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13, 25-14.

Eastlake's win bumped their record up to 29-3. As for Montwood, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.

Everything went Eastlake's way against Montwood when the teams last played back in September, as Eastlake made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
