Softball Recap: Plymouth Whitemarsh Beats Upper Moreland for Their Sixth Straight Victory

While Plymouth Whitemarsh's win against Upper Moreland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colonials' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Colonials as they're now sitting on six straight.

The result came thanks to Rian Reed's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Plymouth Whitemarsh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Powel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was Powel's first of the season.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Upper Moreland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plymouth Whitemarsh will welcome Upper Dublin at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Upper Moreland, they will be playing at home against Upper Merion Area at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
