Football Recap: Barnsdall Falls Despite Big Games from Tripp Barbee and Lincoln Gott

If Barnsdall was feeling good fresh off their 40-6 takedown of Afton last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 38-14 to the Hominy Bucks on Thursday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bucks from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Barnsdall's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lincoln Gott, who rushed for 181 yards and one score, and Tripp Barbee, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown. Gott's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 160 rushing yards.

Barnsdall dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Hominy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Barnsdall will face off against rival Porter at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. Meanwhile, Hominy is set to square off against their familiar foe Afton at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
