Football Game Preview: Lacey Township Lions vs. Toms River East Raiders

The Lacey Township Lions will head out to square off against the Toms River East Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lacey Township is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Southern Regional on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions took a blow against the Rams, falling 35-0. Considering the last time the Lions couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Toms River East fell victim to Donovan Catholic and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Griffins. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Griffins are ranked 83rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Lacey Township and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Toms River East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Lacey Township didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Toms River East in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 28-24 victory.
