Softball Recap: Ramona Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ramona had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Holtville Vikings get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. The Bulldogs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

Ramona let Kayla Gibson and Evie Brown run wild. Gibson scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Brown scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Gibson a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Savanna Rhea, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Ramona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 2-8-1. As for Holtville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Ramona will head out to take on Hilltop at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hilltop has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.56 runs per game on average), something Ramona will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Holtville, they will take on Oceanside in a tournament on Saturday.
