Golden Sierra has gone 4-0 against Mesa Verde recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Golden Sierra Grizzlies will square off against the Mesa Verde Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Golden Sierra took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed by Vacaville Christian at home to the tune of 49-14. The high-scoring effort was just what the Grizzlies needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Andrew Gerondakis and Preston Radich were among the main playmakers for Golden Sierra as the former threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes and the latter picked up 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Radich showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 65 yards. Cody Mccoard helped Gerondakis out on the ground, rushing for 52 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Mesa Verde made sure to put some points up on the board against Rio Vista on Friday. Mesa Verde was the clear victor by a 37-14 margin over Rio Vista.

It was another big night for Cesar Granados, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending a pass.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mesa Verde was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Vista only rushed for 172.

Golden Sierra pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mesa Verde, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Golden Sierra has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 216.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mesa Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging 258.4. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
