Recap: St. Joseph Hill Academy Hilltoppers vs. North Rockland Raiders
The St. Joseph Hill Academy Hilltoppers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over North Rockland. Given St. Joseph Hill Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while North Rockland is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, North Rockland saw an underclassman step up: Kiersten Daly scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarai Gurley, who scored eight points.
The victory (which was St. Joseph Hill Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. As for North Rockland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Hill Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Kennedy Catholic at 12:45 p.m. on January 27th. As for North Rockland, they will square off against Ossining at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ossining knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully North Rockland likes a good challenge.
