Greater Wichita City recap Oct. 9, 2012

Carroll extended the longest winning streak in Greater Wichita City this week by beating Kapaun Mt. Carmel, 38-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Southeast took down South 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

East's dynamic duo of T.J. Sparr and J.J. Normore proved tough for Garden City to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sparr threw for 22 yards and Normore had 17 yards receiving. Garrett Gates helped East's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.

Trevon Mitchell was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 164 yards on 22 carries as West fell to the Buffaloes. Teammate Trez Patrick added to the ground attack by rushing for 101 yards.

East's Sparr and Normore have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sparr has thrown for 402 yards this season, while Normore, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 14 catches for 247 yards. Deron Thompson from Northwest leads the league in rushing with 676 yards.

A big matchup in Greater Wichita City this week will be when Brian Byers' team takes on Heights. The Aces are currently in third, while the Falcons are in second.

The Golden Buffalo led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Titans.
