Soccer Game Preview: Decatur vs. Memorial

The Decatur Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Memorial Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Decatur faced off against Lake Dallas on Thursday. The Eagles lost 4-0 to the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Decatur's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Memorial waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their defense stepped up to hand the Demons a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Memorial, who have now won five contests by six goals or more so far this season.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-1.

Decatur came up short against Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
