Softball Game Preview: Galesburg Silver Streaks vs. Macomb Bombers

The Galesburg Silver Streaks will face off against the Macomb Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Galesburg is looking for their season's first win.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Galesburg's offense. They lost 20-0 to East Moline United on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Macomb came up short against Hamilton/Warsaw on Thursday and fell 6-2.

Kendyl Danner was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Danner was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.

Galesburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Macomb, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Galesburg couldn't quite get it done against Macomb when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 6-3. Can the Silver Streaks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
