Basketball Game Preview: Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers vs. Surrattsville Hornets

Having just played yesterday, the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Surrattsville Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.7 points per game this season.

On Monday, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Friendly 52-49.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lincoln Nelson, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Webster, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Surrattsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Largo 71-37. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Lions are ranked 31st).

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Surrattsville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South barely slipped by Surrattsville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 60-59. Does Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South have another victory up their sleeve, or will Surrattsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
