Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Foster

Foster's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alief Elsik Rams a 19-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Julia Kaspar looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jessica Reyes was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Jordan Tosch was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Foster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive contests.

Foster pushed their record up to 15-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Alief Elsik, Alief Taylor, and George Ranch. As for the Rams, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Foster will be playing at home against Alief Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alief Elsik, they will square off against George Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.84 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
