Basketball Game Preview: Mather Rangers vs. Chicago Sullivan Tigers

The Mather Rangers will face off against the Chicago Sullivan Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mather is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

Mather took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Northtown by a score of 52-43.

Adin Smajlovic was his usual excellent self, putting up 29 points. The match was his third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Chalwe, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Chicago Sullivan faced off against Chicago Academy on Thursday. Chicago Sullivan claimed a resounding 68-36 victory over Chicago Academy. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 31 points or more this season.

Mather's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16. As for Chicago Sullivan, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Everything came up roses for Mather against Chicago Sullivan in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the squad secured a 62-31 win. Does Mather have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chicago Sullivan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
