Iola-Scandinavia took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Amherst, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunderbirds narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Falcons 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since May 9, 2024.
Rayanne Clendenning was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
