Edgewood Academy (Elmore, Ala.) won its fifth straight AISA Class A state championship and easily captured the top spot in the MaxPreps Small Schools National Computer Rankings.

Edgewood Academy had a significant lead over No. 2 Melbourne Central Catholic (Melbourne, Fla.), which won the Florida Class 3A state championship, and Verdigris (Claremore, Okla.), which won the Oklahoma Class 3A state title.

The small schools rankings are based on the overall MaxPreps national computer rankings. Not all results are available for some teams. Teams with incomplete results or less than 20 games played were not included.

Small-sized schools are those which belong to state enrollment divisions that generally have under 1,000 students.
