Roseville is 7-2 against Del Oro since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roseville Tigers will be playing at home against the Del Oro Golden Eagles at 3:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Wednesday, Roseville had just enough and edged out Vanden 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Austin Chang looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Gustus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Jacob Welch, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Del Oro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Fighting Zebras 7-5. With that victory, the Golden Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Broc McReynolds looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Carson Moore was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Lumbert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Del Oro's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Roseville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Roseville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Del Oro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Roseville beat Del Oro 4-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Roseville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Del Oro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
