Basketball Game Preview: Dinwiddie Generals vs. Petersburg Crimson Wave

The Dinwiddie Generals are taking a road trip to take on the Petersburg Crimson Wave at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Petersburg took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Dinwiddie, who comes in off a win.

Dinwiddie took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-47 win over Prince George.

Madisyn Hurtt went supernova for Dinwiddie, putting up 36 points. The dominant performance gave Hurtt a new career-high in points. Carolina Berry was another key player, posting 12 points.

Meanwhile, Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Matoaca, falling 66-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crimson Wave have suffered since February 6, 2024.

Dinwiddie's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Dinwiddie didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Petersburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 70-66 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dinwiddie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
