Basketball Recap: Kennesaw Mountain Comes Up Short

Kennesaw Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Paulding Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Spartans are ranked 100th).

Kennesaw Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for South Paulding, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Kennesaw Mountain will take on East Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Paulding knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Kennesaw Mountain likes a good challenge. As for South Paulding, they will face off against New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (New Manchester has won six straight at home, while South Paulding won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
