Baseball Recap: Timpview Wins Going Away Against Hunter

Timpview never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Hunter Wolverines with a sharp 17-0 win. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Thunderbirds yet this season.

Zeke Kleven looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Elliot Myers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Max Clark was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Timpview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Timpview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Hunter is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Timpview Thunderbirds take on North Sanpete Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hunter, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Mountain View's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
